How did Louis Vuitton become so reputable?
Back in the early 1800s, Louis Vuitton was trained as a luggage packer for upscale Parisian families. He began his rise to fame after he was appointed by Napolean III to pack the dresses of Empress Eugenie. He thought of the idea that eventually led to his famous handbag designs from designing luggage for the traveling rich in Paris thanks to his extensive knowledge in the practice. Vuitton’s earliest invention included designing luggage that was flat and could easily be stacked in railway carriages. Eventually, he was able to start a business in 1854 and luggage began to give way to handbags. Vuitton designed the ever popular Noe bags originally to carry 5 bottles of champagne, but due to its staggering success, women everywhere began to carry this elegant bag as part of their outfit. Several other lines were created that eventually cemented his high position in this field. His infamous monogram that consists of intersecting the LV initials with a curved beige diamond and a four point star was launched to counteract the replicas his competitors made who were copying his unique styles. To this day, Louis Vuitton still stands as one of the highest quality lines of purses and handbags in this world, establishing a legacy that has withstood the test of time for three centuries.
